MEET
As the SVP of Business Development, Robert works with agents to support their relationship with Swyfft by creating positive experiences. And he is incredibly successful at it. Probably because that’s who Robert is at his core. He’s the friend that actually shows up to help you move. The guy that picks up on the first ring and always calls you back. Our agents and clients know they are in good hands when they bring their challenges to Robert.
Unless it’s the morning Robert picks the winning lottery numbers.
We do hope his numbers hit, but fingers crossed it happens after he retires. Until then, we appreciate that Robert is so invested in his role at Swyfft. Even if his maximum productivity is reached by adding two shots of espresso to his two shots of espresso (with a mocha chaser).
With a family who has worked in the insurance industry since the 1920’s, you would think Robert’s career path would have been preordained. But not the case. Robert enrolled at FSU as a premed student with his sights set on becoming a doctor. Luckily for us, he traded in those scrub-wearing dreams for khakis and signature cowboy hat. He graduated and officially began his insurance career as a claims adjuster for USF&G in Raleigh, NC.
That was 30 years ago and he’s still never missed an FAIA convention!
He’s dedicated to insurance, but his role as dad will always come first. And a fun dad if you ask him! Although his kids might tell a different story since embarrassing them in public with his punny jokes is a favorite pastime for Robert. When he’s not causing emoji-worthy eye-rolls, he loves spending time with his daughter and son, playing games, and hanging out. But, they never challenge him at Asteroids because he will mercilessly take you down, family or not.
Robert’s superpower: he’s got a way of putting people at ease. Probably because he’s genuinely interested in what people have to say and he cares. He is someone that people turn to, whether they need help solving a problem, or just want a laugh. In fact, if you want to hear some wild stories about his time at Swyfft, ask him about “The Chronicles of the BGT.”
We hope you have a chance to meet Robert if you haven’t yet. Whether you need help siphoning gas on the loading docks of the Marriott World Center or an underwriting exception, Robert’s your guy.
