Massachusetts Admitted Home Program Rate Increase
We know rate increases aren’t popular but are a necessary part of our industry. Our goal is to strike a balance between rate adequacy and prices customers can afford. After careful consideration, we have implemented a statewide average rate increase of 9.9% for our admitted home program as follows:
- New business policies effective 7/9/21 and beyond. For new business quoted prior to 7/9/21, we will honor the current rate through 7/23/21.
- Renewal business effective 9/1/21 and beyond.
- The rate increase of 9.9% is a statewide average, meaning some policyholders will see smaller or larger increases.
Insurance Score + Eligibility
We’ve also begun using insurance score in determining eligibility for our Admitted Home Program. If coverage is declined or non-renewed due to insurance score, you or your customers will be notified.
E&S Home Program Gaining Traction
In June, we launched our E&S Home Program, designed specifically for risks in CAT exposed areas on the coast. So far, we’re seeing loads of quoting activity. By taking advantage of premium adjustable features like the tropical cyclone deductible, insurance scoring, and roofing coverage options, agents are able to offer their customers a perfect-fit policy at an attractive rate.
Review our Quick Reference Guide and Agent Bulletin for more details on our E&S Home Program.
