self-inspection

Depending on how you feel, those zoom parties and cardboard cutout fans might be getting old. But here’s the upside. As we’re challenged to find new ways to carry on, we’re finding better ways to do it.

That’s the driving force behind our Take Control, Home Interior Self-Inspection Program: offering homeowners a better, more convenient, comfortable, and contactless way to conduct interior home inspections.

Here’s what you need to know and share about the program:

  • After binding new business, interior inspections will now be ordered for homes 20 years and older.
  • Most homes will qualify for an interior self-inspection. Exterior inspections will still be conducted by a Swyfft inspector.
  • If qualifying for the program, the insured will receive an email from Swyfft’s inspection partner, typically within days of the policy’s effective date.
  • The email will explain the self-inspection process: how to download the program app to a smartphone and follow the step-by-step instructions for taking photos, making notes and uploading them to Swyfft.
  • Some older homes will not qualify for interior home self-inspections. In these cases, a Swyfft inspector will call the insured to schedule a time to conduct the onsite inspection.

As a new program, we do expect some changes and improvements over time. We will keep you posted as that happens. Once finalized, we’ll create materials that your agency can use when explaining the program to customers.
